Of course parents should be aloud to see and restrain what there children are reading, thats what parents are there for to protect children from things, ideas, and even books that might harm them. But parents cant just read a pasage or a title or just the back of the book they must read it for themselves and do some research before they start a petetion or have a raley or go to there school board. The point to have some knowledge about what your talking about before you say something dumb.

I belive that in a sense the patriot is a good thing for the american society. A lot of people think that it used to spy in on day to day life of everyday people,(the government is not interested in your grandmothers bingo winnings or your new boyfriend or girlfriend) these people are Incredibly wrong. The patriot act is used by the FBI and other government agencies, to help track down and find terrorists cell's in the united states. But also the patriot act puts a censor on some media, which is completly wrong, this part of the patriot act may lead to the eventual "1984" scenario, "1984" is a famous novel by George Orwell about the government censoring everything. And even if this does happen the government is still simply doing to help protect america from another 9/11 type of attack.
