Do you actually know what you are talking about?
Quote #4--Parents have been known to tell their children not to do something or not to watch something on TV when they know nothing about it. I know because my mom would yell at me for watching shows but she would only come in on the part where they swear or say something bad she would not watch the whole show. It is the same with books I don't believe that parents should ban something or challenge something if they have not read it cover to cover. It is the same for a project at school you have to reasearch facts about your subject before you right the paper of else you will just sound stupid.
And if parents still feel that the book is not appropriate after reading it cover to cover they should not ban it from a whole school, so that it is not available to any student. They should just make it so it is no longer a mandatory, but it is still available in the school libraries so that it is available to those students who wish to read it.

What do your parents teach?
Quote #3 ♥ I do believe that parents reserve the right to teach their children about controversial issues such as drugs. But I also believe that books involving issues such as rape, drugs, sexuality, or violence should be available to high school students, because by the time your child is in high school you sould have already taught and explained the values you believe in and the values you hope they too will believe. So by this time in their life it is up to them what to believe. I have also known children who have parents that either don't care enough to teach them of drugs or they feel uncomfortable talking to their children about issuses such as drugs. So for those children books or school is the only why they know of these issuses and the consequences of them.
