I agree with this passage. People have a right as american citizens to do, think, and indulge in whatever they want and the government has no right to say otherwise. Censorship by its very nature takes away a persons rights. If a person wants to read, watch, or listen to something they have every right to even if the government says it is "inappropreate"

patriot act

I believe that the patriot act does not pose a threat to individual freedoms. The patriot act allows the government to seek and capture people who do pose a threat to our country. These days terrorism is stronger than ever and as shown by 9/11, are determined to destroy america. Therefore it is important to seek out and eliminate any terrorist threat in the country. The positive aspect of the patriot act far out weigh the negative. It is also a good thing when you think about in comparison to the Red Scare, where peoples privacies were unnecesarily invaded and peoples lives were ruined.
