#3 Assignment

I do believe that parents have the right to teach their kids about controversial issues. But, the kids are going to learn no matter what. Just like if a less explicit book teaches you about something the same thing a violent book does, a teacher can teach you about something rather than just your parent. I also think that parents try to hide thing, like drugs, way to much. These thinks are out in ther world you just have to be smart enough to know the consequences. The parents who complain about things like this, i think, are over protective and need to understand is that, no matter what, they have to grow up sometime.

I do think it poses a danger but at the same time it doesn't. The whole point of the FBI and the CIA if for the protection of the country. If keeping the country safe without terrorist attacks means slightly intruding the freedoms of the Bill of Rights then its not that bad. Its also like saying would you rather have your rights or be in constant attack for other countries.

I agree. I think its all about preferrence. Nobody is telling you to read the book. If you don't like mystery books that the story line is some little girl got raped, then DON'T READ IT. What is it hurting you that its up on a shelf in a library or school. You see, This is where our Bill of Rights comes into play. If you are not forced to read it then don't. If you want to read it and you don't think its appropriate, then its your own fault for picking it up willingfully and reading it. And who says you even HAVE to read. Like i said its all about preferrence.

I don't agree so much because you say that it will not serve more good than harm. Safety is basically everything. Imagine in a world where everywhere you turn someone is trying to shank you or rob you. Nobody wants that. People are much happier when there safe. Thats why you don't see barely anyone walking around in a gang violence infested neighborhood. I know I wouldn't would you? So, in order to feel free you also need a sense of security and everything is fine. But, Yes, there are lines that can be crossed violating your personal life. Just, in this case, I don't feel that there crossing that line. If you have nothing to hid then WHAT'S THE PROBLEM.
